Tutorial For Flashing Ixtreme 1.5 With a Laptop
For BenQ and Samsung DVD Drives only.

If you are not sure which DVD drive your x360 has, remove the faceplate and use the diagram below and look at hole #3.

    Requirements:

An Xbox 360 with either a BenQ or Samsung DVD Drive.
A laptop with a free PCMCIA slot.
    VIA 6421A PCMCIA SATA Controller.

You can download all the files that you will need from here:
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AKDG4YKW

Firstly you will have to open your xbox 360.

    Tutorial

1.) Turn on your laptop and wait till Windows is loaded.
Plug the VIA 6421A PCMCIA controller into your laptop.
2.) Go to control panel and then device manager.

Find "SCSI and RAID controllers" and click on the plus icon (+).

You should see "RAID Controller" listed with an escalation mark.

Right click on "RAID Controller" and select "Update Driver".

The new hardware wizard will open, select "Yes, this time only" and click "Next".

Now select "Install from a list or a specific location (Advanced)" and click "Next".

Now on the next screen select "Don't search. I will choose the drive to install." and click "Next".

Now select the "SCSI/RAID Host Controller" and click "Have Disk".

Now browse to the folder "VIA Drivers" from the .rar file and then the folders for your operating system then select "viamraid.ini" and click "Open".

Now under the lists of compatible hardware select "VIA RAID Controller - 3249" and click "Next".

Now on the next screen click "Finish" and restart the laptop!

3.) Now you have to connect your x360's DVD Drive to your laptop.
Plug the sata cable into your PCMCIA VIA Controller and plug the other end into your x360 DVD Drive.
You will have to unplug the left cable on the DVD Drive to do so.

4.) Make sure that the x360 is off but both the power cable and
    AV cable are connected.

5.) Open "JungleFlasher.exe" from the "JungleFlasher" folder from the .rar file.
Go to the "MTK Flash 32" tab and turn on the x360 using your faceplate.

Click "Intro/Device ID" and Jungleflasher will automatically detect the x360 dvd drive.

    Now click "Read".

JungleFlasher will now start to read the original firmware.

    Reading Bank 0..........
    Reading Bank 1..........
    Reading Bank 2..........
    Reading Bank 3..........
    Reading finished!

After reading is finished you will be asked to save the original firmware.
Just save it on the desktop as "orig.bin" for now.

Once the firmware is saved Jungleflasher will automatically open the "Firmware Tool 32" tab and open your "orig.bin" for you.

Click "Open Target Firmware" and open the "ix15.bin" from the "Firmware" folder and then either the "BenQ" or "Samsung" folder from the .rar file depending on your x360's DVD drive.

Click "Spoof Source to Target" and JungleFlasher will copy the drive key from the original firmware to the Ixtreme 1.5 firmware.

Now make sure the drive keys from both "orig.bin" and "ix15.bin" match.

Go back to the "MTK Flash 32" tab and click "Write".

JungleFlasher will now start to write the Ixtreme 1.5 firmware.

    Erasing.......
    Erasing finished!
    Writing Bank 0.........
    Writing Bank 1.........
    Writing Bank 2.........
    Writing Bank 3.........
    Writing finished!

    Flash Verification Test!
    Reading Bank 0..........
    Reading Bank 1..........
    Reading Bank 2..........
    Reading Bank 3..........
    Write Verified OK!

Once you get the "Write Verified OK!" message the flashing is finished.
Just turn your x360 and laptop off, put the x360 back together again.

Make sure you make a backup of the "orig.bin" that is on your desktop!

    Enjoy Ixtreme 1.5

yes i guess you could that with the sata. and if you ever want to unmod your xbox. just save your original firmware and keep it somewhere and when you want to unmod just simply flash your xbox again but this time with your original firmware and it will be back to normal

Wave? You serious? When flashing an xbox 360 consoles, waves have nothing to do with anything. It is the drive model that matters. Waves only matter during stealth patching a game.

    Anyways, just to inform everybody:

Team Xecuter has released a product "x360usbpro". It uses a simple USB connection so there is no need for SATA controllers and messes and it works with all Windows, all 32bit/64bit and all laptops. I got mine and tried it, it flashes the drives VERY quickly and is able to flash the SLIM drives aswell ( though the firmware hasn't been released for it yet, TX extracted it's key seemlessly ).

Recemmended that you get it and make life easier. It's not necessary, but it's ALOT better than getting dangled-up in the messes SATA controllers can make especially when using laptops.

I highly doupt it. Besides, this technique is out dated. Get a x360usb pro. It will allow you to flash on all Windows including 7 x64bit.

I agree with Ghost. I recently bought an x360usb pro and it makes life much simpler. No worries with finding the correct sata controller and all that nonsense. Just hook it to any usb port and you're flashing in minutes.
